Ocean Bluff House, Montauk, NY
Montauk, NY
This project focused on creatively renovating and transforming an outdated home that became unsuitable for its beachfront environment into a contemporary home that reflected the landscape that surrounded the property. Working in tandem with landscape architecture firm, LaGuardia Design Group, the resulting intervention created a home that formed a symbiotic relationship with the dunes, ocean, and native plants of the area. Employing a natural material palette for the exterior cladding and decking, the built environment seamlessly connects to the landscaped components of the site. Utilizing the embodied carbon of the existing residence, the design accommodates the existing architecture in more sustainably oriented ways.
