For this Montauk house, RYA designed a new construction on a separate lot initially intended as a guest house. The architectural approach nods to the 80s aesthetic of the main house while ensuring a seamless integration with its surroundings. Despite stringent limitations, including a tight building envelope and zoning setbacks from the lake, RYA’s design maximizes space and views. Thoughtful placement of angled rooms reflects height restrictions, maintaining compliance without compromising design integrity.
