FD Gallery, New York, NY
New York, NY
FD Gallery, an Upper East Side jewelry boutique, was designed to be a relaxed, gracious environment. Specializing in high-end estate jewelry, the space’s simplicity allows the stunning gems and relics to remain the focus. A large gallery room extends to a more private salon where customers can relax while viewing and trying on items. Custom ceiling fixtures with gold inlay add a touch of luxury to the otherwise minimal space. The casework was also custom designed to highlight the uniqueness of the item while also providing added protection and security. To maintain a streamlined aesthetic, heating and cooling systems were designed to disappear through slots in the ceiling and floor. A roll down security gate was installed, but designed to be hidden under the outside awning. As a Landmarked building, approvals for the new entry way and awning had to be approved by both Landmarks and the community.
