Originally a one-bedroom residence from the 1950s, it was transformed by the family who acquired it, enhancing functionality and capitalizing on its breathtaking surroundings.

Former staff quarters were converted into additional rooms for the children, while the staff kitchen was reconfigured to embrace panoramic views. Situated on a ridge traversing New Jersey, the house offers sweeping vistas of both the Manhattan skyline and the picturesque landscape.

Key enhancements included opening up the kitchen to the rear of the house to maximize views and improving the thermal envelope through restoration and upgrading of materials and exterior cladding. Despite constraints on relocating the kitchen, strategic design solutions were implemented to seamlessly integrate modern amenities while preserving the home’s midcentury charm.
